Football tournament held

The Division of Students Activity (DoSA) of IUB arranged a 7-A Side Football (summer) Tournament on the 15th and 16th June, 2012 at the Army Museum playground in Dhaka. A total of 12 teams from the university participated. The team named ‘Better than Others’ (BTO) became champion beating Lucky Strike by 2-1 in the final.

Summer Unplugged

The Division of Studenst Activities (DoSA) organized a concert titled Summer Unplugged on 18th July, 2012 at multipurpose hall of the university permanent campus. The full house concert was performed by artists from IUB as well as from outside who sang many kinds English and Bangla songs. The concert was organized to celebrate summer for the last time before the student’s final exam. The summer unplugged concert will be organized every year at this time of the year said Mr. Kazi Faruque Ahmed, Senior Manager, DoSA.

Like every year the Division of Students Activities (DoSA) and the Student Council of IUB organized an Iftar Get-together at the permanent campus on Tuesday 31 July, 2012.The programme was attended by Prof M Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, Members of the faculty and management, the members of the Student Council and a good number of students and alumni.Kazi  Faruque Ahmed, Sr Manager, Student activities coordinated the event.

Voluntary Blood Donation Program

The Division of Student Activities (DoSA) of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) together with Quantum Foundation organized two- day long Voluntary blood donation programme at IUB’s permanent campus at Bashundhara, Dhaka  on the 18th   and 19th November 2012. Mr Towhid Samad, Chairman, Board of Trustees, IUB and Professor Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor was present to inspire and motivate the donors.DoSA regularly arranges such Voluntary Fresh Blood donation drive to motivate young generation specially graduate and post graduate level
students. A total of 213 bags of blood were collected from the programme.By making collaboration with Quantum Foundation, IUB tries to create a network for expanding its helping activities in need of times from a concern of social and humanitarian services.
